Wordpress 2.7, like, OMG!

I last looked at the WP2.7 nightly last week, thinking, holy cow have these guys ever gone a long way in the past few days. The left-side vertical navigation was kind of hard to get used to, and the new use of space and box arrangemtns for the various admin pages was a bit overwhelming (but welcome, i hated all the wasted space pre-2.7).

So today, after screwing up my template last night, I figured I’d grab the latest version from SVN and throw it up here on my live site.

HOLY COW have they ever gone made a whole pile of changes since last week. I know they announed a feature freeze and were going to work on the style of the admin theme, but now the left-side navigation is a collapsed, icon driven vertical stack, with roll-over menus OR slide=pop depending on what you prefer. The dashboard is revamped again, with all the crap hidden in collapsed panels to start (you can add/remove panels on the dashboard, arrange them as you like too…nice!)

I’m also using Carrington 1.1 so pretty much everything is brand new and scarily unfamiliar again. I’m all excited to dig in and master my domain, and hopefully breathe some life into my work.

Thank you so much, Wordpress elves! I hope you feel the appreciation. I’m really proud to be a user and have so much confidence when I promote this brilliant application to my clients. Thank you for enabling me yet further.
