“Tell me a story? I’ve reached the end of the internet….”

uhhh

What kind…

…I took my daughter to see Annie at the Concert Hall this year

it was so magical, bringing her to a live, professional show, just me an her

i bought her an outfit from the GAP

she LOVED having ‘designer’ clothes

i dressed up

we went to the concert hall in a taxi, right to the front door

we got there early, so we walked around, looking at people, talking, showing her around the place

bought her a treat, I drank a special coffee

Its a big place for a kid…lots to see

when we finally sat down, we were sitting beside this older couple

like, round 70 or at least in their late 60x

i kept looking at her because she looked so familiar, but old

finally I was like “excuse me, are you from Kenora?”

and she was like “yes…” and I was like, omg, you were my guidance counsellor in High School

this lady spent a good chunk of high school talking to me

cuz I was a troubled kid

and I was also a jerk

but oveer the past 20+ years I was always secretly thankful she was there to listen to me

And there you are with you daughter. You must have been so proud

and wished I could have acknowledged her contribution to keeping me from being a complete loser

so

I got to thank her, specifically. she remembered me, commented on how I was really messed up haha

but was able to see me being this great dad

and yeah, I got to thank her for all that

it was a good show too. I actually enjoyed it waaaay more than I thought i would.. i never liked Annie mucj

then after the show

the place was crazy with people leaving and shit, of course

and I was a little worried about yso feeling overwhelmed in the crowd (she wasn’t)

and when we got outside, holy shit was it cold.

and I was thinking oh man we have to wait for a cab or something, and like, so was everyone ele

but we went outside anyways. I thought maybe walking away from the center would make it easier

anyways, we walked out the front door, down the steps, I saw this van/cab pull up and waved… he pointed and nodded

in we go

so we got to ride back in this huge cab by ourselves… essentially a minivan with its middle seats removed

so it was like a ghetto limo

it was a rad night from beginning to end

was a proud dad that night

the end
